Everything caretakers ask, in one place.

The basics

PALZ is a virtual companion game on Ontology. You adopt a PALZ, care for it every day, play with it, and help it grow. When you join, you choose one of three starters: Friendly, Tidy or Gourmet.

Raise your PALZ from Baby all the way to Master, keep it thriving, and climb the weekly arcade leaderboards along the way. PALZ rewards showing up: a little care every day goes further than a long session once a week.

Your PALZ has three stats: happiness, hunger and hygiene. They drop gradually throughout the day. Restore them with Play, Feed and Care activities - there are 12 in total, with more unlocking as you level up - or instantly with quick items from the shop. A well-cared-for PALZ gets you more from the arcade (see the wellness bonus below).

Nothing permanent - your PALZ never disappears. But its stats will sink, it will look miserable, and you lose the wellness bonus until you take care of it again.

Playing arcade games, keeping your daily streak and completing quests all build XP. When you have enough XP, you spend some PEPZ to level up - the cost grows as your level rises. The maximum level is 60. Higher levels bring more energy, new activities, more lottery tickets and, eventually, evolution.

Your PALZ grows through four stages: Baby, Teen, Adult and Master. Evolutions happen as you level up (at levels 10, 20 and 30), and each one makes your PALZ visibly grow - and raises its maximum energy.

Check in, claim your daily streak, top up your PALZ's stats with a few activities, play some arcade runs, and clear your quests. Ten minutes covers the essentials.

PEPZ and ONT

PEPZ is the in-game currency of PALZ. You get it by playing - arcade games, streaks, quests, weekly prizes - and you spend it in the shop and on leveling up your PALZ.

ONT is Ontology's coin. In PALZ, ONT is a prize: top spots on the weekly arcade leaderboards and the weekly lottery pay ONT. You claim ONT prizes in-game and they are sent to your linked ONT address.

Yes. The PEPZ Shop offers ten bundles from $0.99 to $99.99, paid in USDT on Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Arbitrum or Base. Bundles from $1.99 up also include booster items - the bigger the bundle, the better the boosters.

No. Bundles are paid in USDT only. ONT is something you receive in PALZ, not something you spend in it.

Getting PEPZ and XP

  • Arcade mini-games - the better your score, the more PEPZ and XP you get
  • Your daily streak
  • Quests (daily, weekly, monthly and one-time)
  • Weekly leaderboard prizes
  • The weekly lottery (every participant receives some PEPZ)
  • PODZ, which can contain bonus PEPZ
  • PEPZ bundles from the shop

No. Activities restore your PALZ's stats - that is their job. Keeping those stats high is what pays off, through the wellness bonus.

If your PALZ is well cared for (wellness score of 75 or higher), everything you get from arcade games is increased by 30% - both PEPZ and XP. It is the single biggest multiplier in the game, and it is free: just take care of your PALZ.

Three mini-games: Sky High, Wavebreaker and Golf. Each run costs energy, and your rewards scale with your score. Sky High and Wavebreaker also feed the weekly prize leaderboards.

Energy

Only arcade games. A Sky High run costs 10 energy, Wavebreaker 15, Golf 10. Activities (Play, Feed, Care) are always free.

Your maximum grows with your level, from 50 at the start up to 100, with extra jumps when your PALZ evolves.

It refills on its own over time. If you don't want to wait: a full refill costs 350 PEPZ, and smaller energy boosts (from +5 to +50) cost 60 to 320 PEPZ.

Daily streak

Claim your streak reward once per day (days follow UTC). Every day pays a base reward of PEPZ and XP, and milestone days - 3, 7, 14, 21 and 30 - pay bigger rewards, including PODZ. After day 30 your streak keeps counting for as long as you keep showing up.

Shields protect you. If you hold at least one shield, missing a single day costs nothing - a shield is used automatically. If you miss two days in a row and hold three shields, you can rescue your streak by spending all three. Miss three days and the streak resets. Shields cost 200 PEPZ each (or 550 for a 3-pack) and you can hold up to three.

Quests

Daily quests (reset at midnight UTC), weekly quests (reset Monday), monthly quests (reset on the 1st) and one-time quests. They pay PEPZ and XP, and some also grant a PODZ.

Yes - completing every quest in a period unlocks an extra bonus reward on top.

Some quests (like sharing on social media) ask for proof. Those are checked by the team before the reward unlocks - usually a short wait.

Weekly prizes

Sky High and Wavebreaker. Your best single score from Monday to Sunday (UTC) is your entry. Each of the two games pays out weekly:

RankONTPEPZ
1100500
265400
345300
4-530250
6-1018200
11-208150
21-306100
31-50-75

That is 500 ONT per game, every week. PEPZ prizes are credited automatically; ONT prizes are claimed in-game.

A draw runs every Sunday. You get free tickets automatically - one for every PALZ level - and can buy up to 20 more per week with PEPZ (the price rises with each extra ticket, starting at 10 PEPZ). The weekly prize pool is 1,500 ONT across 45 winners:

TierWinnersPrize each
Grand prize1400 ONT
Second3100 ONT
Third650 ONT
Fourth1520 ONT
Fifth2010 ONT

Everyone else who entered receives 100 PEPZ. Each PALZ can win at most one prize per draw (the best one). The draw uses public, verifiable randomness. You need a linked ONT address to take part.

In-game, from the rewards screen. ONT is sent to the ONT address linked to your account.

Yes - from time to time we run limited events and tournaments with extra rewards on top of the weekly prizes. They are announced on our X and Telegram.

Wallets and grades

A wallet. The smoothest path is the ONTO wallet, which sets you up with everything PALZ uses. You can also connect any regular EVM wallet through WalletConnect. Smart-contract wallets are not supported - use a standard wallet address.

Grades reflect how connected your account is, and better grades mean your PALZ's stats drop more slowly:

  • Bronze - the default for every new caretaker.
  • Silver - link an ONT address: stats drop 10% slower.
  • Gold - reach a Humanity Score above 10: stats drop 20% slower.

A score from Orange Protocol that reflects that you are a real, active person. You can check and refresh it from inside the game.

Shop and items

Instant snacks, toys and care products that restore one stat on the spot (from +20 to +80 points). They cost 40 to 110 PEPZ, and each stat type has a short 10-minute cooldown between uses.

Timed bonuses that improve what you get from arcade games. There are XP boosters and PEPZ boosters in four rarities - from +10% for 6 hours up to +75% for 3 days - plus rarer boosters that speed up energy refill or slow your PALZ's stat decay. Common to Epic boosters are sold in the shop (25 to 450 PEPZ); the strongest ones only come out of PODZ. One booster of each type can be active at a time.

Mystery containers with a mix of items, boosters and PEPZ surprises. Common, Rare and Epic PODZ are in the shop (100, 300 and 750 PEPZ); Legendary PODZ can't be bought - they come from streak milestones and quests.

Looks for your PALZ - hats, capes, wings and more, across 35 items. You buy them with PEPZ (999 to 7,999), some require a minimum level, and you can equip up to three at once. A few special looks can't be bought at all - they were reserved for caretakers who were part of the story early on.
